Raghav Juyal faces backlash after reporter questions him despite earlier supporting students over NEET Paper Leak Protest
Actor and dancer Raghav Juyal has come under the spotlight after a video of his heated exchange with a reporter during the promotions of his upcoming film Bhai Tera Star Hai went viral on social media. The incident took place in Jaipur, where the actor was promoting the comedy film.
Raghav Juyal lose his cool
As Raghav was leaving the event, a reporter from a local news channel stopped him and asked why he had not spoken publicly about the ongoing CJP student protest despite interacting with students during the film's promotions. The reporter asked, "You've promoted among students, but you haven't said anything about the student protests."
Responding firmly, Raghav said, "As much courage as you have in asking us, show the same courage to those who really need to be asked." As he continued to walk away, the reporter again questioned whether he stood with the students. Raghav replied that he had already shared his views on Instagram and said people should read his posts before questioning him. He further added that if the same courage had been shown where it truly mattered, the current situation might not have existed.
Boycott Calls Surface on Social Media
Soon after the video surfaced online, it sparked mixed reactions. While many social media users supported Raghav's response, others criticised him and called for his boycott. The hashtag demanding a boycott of the actor began trending on several platforms.
Reacting to the online criticism, Raghav reshared one of the boycott posts from his official social media account and wrote, "I've said what I had to say." His response indicated that he did not wish to make any further comments on the controversy.
Raghav Had Already Extended Support to Students
Before the Jaipur incident, Raghav had already spoken in support of the students during a public event. He said the protesters were not fighting only for themselves but were working for the future of the country's children. Calling today's youth "ahead of their time," he said young people should be heard if society wants to move in the right direction.
He added that the students' demand for justice and accountability was important and that listening to young voices was necessary for building a better future. His remarks made him one of the first celebrities to openly express solidarity with the student movement.
Instagram Posts Reflected His Stand
Raghav had also shared several Instagram posts supporting the protest. He posted a picture of the Preamble of the Indian Constitution, highlighting its original text and acknowledging Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's contribution as the Chairman of the Drafting Committee. In another post, he shared a quote by freedom fighter Bhagat Singh that read, "Merciless criticism and independent thinking are the two necessary traits of revolutionary thinking."
Despite the ongoing controversy, Raghav continues to promote Bhai Tera Star Hai, which also stars digital creator Niharika NM. While the debate around his comments continues online, the actor has made it clear that he has already shared his views on the issue and has nothing more to add.
