Randeep Hooda Helps Assam Flood Victims, Distributes Relief Supplies in Sivasagar
Actor Randeep Hooda is in Assam to help people affected by the severe floods. On Saturday, he participated in a flood relief distribution programme organised by NGO Global Sikhs in Sivasagar. During the visit, the actor distributed ration kits and other essential supplies to families who have been displaced due to the floods. According to reports, the floods in Assam have claimed 82 lives and affected millions of people across the state.
Visits Railway Station and Gurudwara
Randeep Hooda met several flood-affected families staying at the Sivasagar railway station after being forced to leave their homes. Along with volunteers, he served food through langar and distributed relief materials. The actor also visited Gurudwara Sahib in Sivasagar, where he offered prayers for the safety and well-being of people affected by the floods.
Randeep Hooda Urges Everyone to Help
While serving food, Randeep Hooda told the media, “This is the Sivasagar railway station, and many affected families have come here from the surrounding areas. Sowe make the food, bring it to them, and have been doing this every day for the last seven days. Humanity is above everything else. I have been working with the same team, Global Sikhs, for many years, and the groundwork they lay is amazing. I would urge everybody to contribute in whichever way they can to help people, not just here, but wherever there is a problem. As human beings, it is our duty to help our fellow human beings. That is why we are here.”
Relief Kits Being Prepared
The National Award-winning actor also shared that the team has been preparing relief kits after understanding the immediate needs of flood victims. He said, “The team has already done a lot of research on what they need, mostly people need immediate relief in everyday amenities, food and things like a place to sleep, a mattress, a torpiline. So, we are making kits, and we’ll be distributing them to whoever needs them, and our team is also out there looking for people who have not received help yet, so we are trying to do that as well.”
Celebrities Extend Their Support
According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), 82 people have lost their lives in the floods so far. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma recently thanked industrialist Gautam Adani for donating ₹11 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to support relief and rehabilitation work. Apart from Randeep Hooda, celebrities like Salman Khan, Alia Bhatt and Bhumi Pednekar have also expressed concern and extended support to the people affected by the Assam floods.
