Book Celebrating An Icon

Empress: The Definitive Biography of Sridevi is authored by Dhiraj U. Kumarr and published by Westland Books. The book, which was announced in 2023, will explore Sridevi’s journey both on and off screen.

The cover also features a special endorsement from Amitabh Bachchan, who describes Sridevi as “The epitome of unmitigated talent.” The book is currently listed as “coming soon.” Sridevi’s husband, filmmaker Boney Kapoor, also reshared Priyanka’s post on his Instagram Stories.

Sridevi’s Timeless Legacy

Born on August 13, 1963, Sridevi began her acting journey as a child artist at just four years old. She later became one of Indian cinema’s most loved and successful actresses, working in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi films.

During the 1980s and 1990s, she ruled Hindi cinema with memorable films such as Mr India, Chandni, ChaalBaaz, Lamhe, Sadma and Nagina. After a long break, she made a powerful comeback with English Vinglish in 2012 and later starred in Mom, her final full-fledged film. She received the National Film Award for Best Actress posthumously for her performance.
