Now after days of his petition at HC, the legal body has finally passed an order for safeguarding Shroff's personality rights. Recently, the actor has expressed his warmest gratitude towards the judiciary for passing on the bated decision.

Jackie Shroff thanks Delhi HC for passing an order on his petition

Veteran actor, Jackie Shroff has issued an official statement while sharing his feelings. within the statement, Shroff said, "I am immensely grateful to the judiciary for passing an order that safeguards my personality rights, including my name, image, likeness, voice, and other unique attributes. For a long time, celebrities had little to no recourse against the misuse of their persona. However, I am heartened by the fact that courts have progressively recognized and protected these rights, as demonstrated in landmark cases involving Mr. Amitabh Bachchan and Mr. Anil Kapoor. These precedents have been very encouraging and motivated me to assert my rights."

The actor has further emphasized taking cognizance of the unauthorized use and misuse of celebrity attributes over the realm of social media in the name of visual treat aka entertainment. Explaining it further, he wrote, "Celebrities wield significant influence, and such abuse can mislead the public regarding a celebrity's association with certain goods or services. The misuse of celebrity personas not only dilutes our brand equity but also misguides the public at large." Extending his credits to the Delhi High Court on acknowledging the protection of personality rights, he further added, "This protection extends to all forms of media, including digital platforms, and specifically prohibits the use of AI, deep fakes, GIFs, AI chatbots, and similar technologies to exploit my persona without my explicit permission."

Jackie Shroff files petition for misusing his syllables

For the unversed, Shroff has previously pleaded the protection for Jackie Shroff, Jackie, Jaggu Dada as well as Bhidu and referred the court that these syllables should not be used by any platform or medium without his primary authorization. His step on the court grounds doesn't end here, as he has requested the Department of Technology and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY) to take down such websites and links that have unlawfully violated his personal rights labeling his personality. Meanwhile, it is not the first time a Bollywood actor has moved to the HC to protect personality rights as actors like Amitabh Bachchan and Anil Kapoor have also graced the grounds for the same.
