Shahid Kapoor in Chandigarh: Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor, who is set for the upcoming film 'Jersey', said that Punjabi actor Diljit Dosanjh gave them the opportunity for making 'Udta Punjab'.

Shahid Kapoor was addressing a press conference in Chandigarh on Friday promoting his upcoming film 'Jersey' which also features Mrunal Thakur in the lead role.

On being asked about giving a breakthrough to Diljit Dosanjh in the film 'Udta Punjab', the 'Jersey' actor Shahid Kapoor said (in Punjabi), "Main Ohnu Mauka Ditta? Diljit Ne Hum Sabko Mauka Ditta Ki Aao Punjab Vich Apni Picture Banao (I gave him the chance, it was Diljit Singh who gave us a chance to visit Punjab and make a film)."

In addition, he said that "I am playing and playing the Punjabi characters. You should accept me, invite me."

On doing a remake film again, Shahid Kapoor said that "At first, I saw the film as an audience as it's a Telugu remake. It was an emotional breakdown for me and I was crying. My wife was there with me. She said, 'what happened? It's just a film."

"I had made my mind that I won't do remake anymore but after watching the 'Jersey' I changed my mind. It's very uplifted and motivating. It made me change my point of view on how I look at my life," he added.
