Bigg Boss 20: Salman Khan slams AI Deepfakes, says ‘It’s Very Scary’ and calls for strict action

Salman Khan has once again spoken about a growing concern on social media. After addressing online trolling during the previous Bigg Boss 20 Weekend Ka Vaar episode, the actor-host has now raised his voice against the increasing use of artificial intelligence to create fake videos and manipulated audio. Salman stressed that creating and spreading misleading AI content can have serious consequences, especially when people are unable to identify whether a video is real or digitally created.

From Trolling To AI Deepfakes

During the latest Weekend Ka Vaar episode, Salman was discussing how bullying and eve-teasing have changed with the rise of social media. According to the actor, behaviour that once happened in physical spaces has now found another form online, particularly through trolling.

While discussing the subject, Salman turned his attention towards AI-generated videos and voices. He pointed out how advanced artificial intelligence has become and how easily someone's words, voice or appearance can now be manipulated.

The actor, who has himself been featured in AI-generated content, said, “Someone made an AI video, or did AI voice dubbing; that is wrong. AI has progressed so much that it’s very scary. It’s a very serious thing. You said something, and someone used AI to edit it and kisi ko gali bakdi. You know what they’re doing? AI videos bana rahe hain yeh. Bahut saare logon ke, and even I am there in the AI video.”

Salman Khan Says Those Behind Fake Videos Should Face Action

Salman further explained that there is a difference between someone unknowingly sharing an AI-generated video and someone deliberately creating such content. He questioned the intention of people who knowingly make misleading videos involving public figures or other individuals.

The actor strongly called for legal action against those who deliberately create and circulate such content. He said, “Now, people who don’t know it is AI-generated content might post that Salman Khan was there. But those who know this reality and still created the video, what kind of people are they? Now those kinds of people should be put behind bars. Jab tak koi ek aadh, do aisa andar jaayega nahi na, tab tak yeh rukne wala hai nahi. There has to be a law that needs to be passed, and there has to be censorship on social media. And I am going to take this up very seriously.”

Why Salman Khan Wants Stronger Measures?

Salman also highlighted how difficult the situation can become for people who do not have the resources or influence to take immediate legal action. While celebrities can approach cybercrime authorities and try to find out who created or circulated a particular video, ordinary people may not have the same access to legal or technical assistance.

The actor expressed concern that fake videos can affect not just the person featured in them but also their families. Once misleading content is uploaded online, it can quickly reach a large audience, making it difficult for the person targeted to control the narrative or explain the truth.

Salman's comments come just days after he criticised social media trolling on Bigg Boss 20. His latest remarks once again focused on accountability in the digital space. For the actor, the concern is not about artificial intelligence itself but about the way some people are using the technology to mislead, abuse or target others.
