Diljit Dosanjh corrects fan wearing his name beside Ik Onkar, wins hearts with humble gesture

Diljit Dosanjh is currently busy with his Aura World Tour, winning hearts across Europe and the United Kingdom. During his latest concert in Italy, the singer-actor once again impressed fans with his humble and respectful nature. A video from the concert has gone viral after Diljit gently corrected a foreign fan who was wearing a T-shirt with his name placed beside the sacred Sikh symbol ‘Ik Onkar’.

Rather than reacting angrily, Diljit calmly explained the importance of the symbol and made sure the fan understood his feelings.

Diljit Explains The Meaning Of Ik Onkar

In the viral video, Diljit invited an international fan on stage along with a female companion. The fan was wearing a custom-printed white T-shirt featuring both ‘Ik Onkar’ and Diljit’s name side by side.

After noticing it, Diljit placed his hand on the T-shirt and explained in English, “This is God... This is very special... and my name together, no, no.” Through his words, Diljit made it clear that he did not want his name placed alongside the sacred symbol.

‘Inhe Pata Nahi, Maaf Kar Do Please’

What made the moment especially touching was Diljit’s reaction towards the fan. He did not embarrass or insult him in front of the crowd. Instead, he understood that the fan may not have known the significance of the symbol.

Turning towards the audience, Diljit said, “I respect your feelings. Inhe pata nahi, maaf kar do please. But I respect you… Ek Onkar, mere walon saare ek ne,” he told the audience.

Fan Later Apologises

The fan later apologised and explained his intentions in the comments section of an Instagram video from the concert. He wrote, “it was an unexpected and surreal moment. I didn’t realize Diljit’s name was so close to the ੴ symbol when making the shirt. I didn’t mean any harm, actually ੴ means a lot to me since I’ve regularly visited the Gurudwara. My apologies for any trouble I created…”

Diljit Continues His Europe Tour

Diljit is currently on his Europe tour. After performing in cities including Milan, Prague and Berlin, he is set to perform in Amsterdam on September 7. His tour will then continue to London, Birmingham and Manchester later this month.

The Italy moment has touched many fans, not just because Diljit spoke about the importance of Ik Onkar, but because he chose to correct the misunderstanding with patience, respect and kindness.
