Punjabi entertainment is ready to take a bigger leap as Lionsgate Play prepares to launch Tiger TV on October 15. The new platform aims to bring Punjabi stories, films, and original content to audiences in India and across the world. With a strong focus on Punjabi entertainment, Tiger TV hopes to create a dedicated space where the richness of Punjab's culture, cinema, and storytelling can reach more viewers. Rather than treating regional content as just another category, the platform aims to put Punjabi entertainment at the heart of its identity.

An Ambitious Vision for Punjabi Entertainment

Announcing the platform, Rohit Jain, founder and CEO of Lionsgate Play, shared plans to build a portfolio of Hindi and Punjabi content intellectual property worth over ₹500 crore over the next three years. Tiger TV will offer more than 50 title premieres in its first year and launch across 12 markets. The platform aims to connect with more than 135 million Hindi- and Punjabi-speaking households in India and over 7.5 million households across key international markets.

Punjabi Content Takes Centre Stage

Punjabi cinema has always had a special connection with its audience through its emotional storytelling, vibrant music, humour, and strong cultural roots. Tiger TV plans to build on this connection with an exciting lineup of titles, including Laal Salaam, Rubb Rakha, Jahankilla, Hanji Kaun, Janaur, Ikk Tu Hoven Mutiyare, and Tu Te Punjab.

The lineup features popular Punjabi stars such as Diljit Dosanjh, Ammy Virk, Gippy Grewal, Neeru Bajwa, Sonam Bajwa, and Amrinder Gill. From stories rooted in Punjab's culture to fresh narratives for modern audiences, the platform aims to offer a diverse viewing experience for Punjabi entertainment lovers.

Punjabi Industry Comes Together

The launch event witnessed the presence of several prominent names from the Punjabi entertainment industry. Actors Gippy Grewal, Prince Kanwaljit Singh, Shavinder Mahal, Jarnail Singh, and Jobanpreet Singh, along with director Amar Hundal and producer Munish Omjee, attended the event. Rajee M. Shinde, CEO of PTC Punjabi Entertainment, was also present, reflecting the industry's interest in new avenues for Punjabi content.

Actor Angad Bedi also attended the launch, where the company unveiled the first look of Daanav, a Hindi crime thriller starring Bedi and Pooja Gor. The series explores the world of serial killers and the psychology behind their actions.

Taking Punjabi Stories Across Borders

Tiger TV will be available from October 15 on the Lionsgate Play app across Asia. Audiences in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand will be able to access the platform through a standalone app. The company also plans to expand its reach through Amazon Prime Video Channels and YouTube Primetime Channels in the coming weeks.

Alongside its Punjabi-focused lineup, Tiger TV will feature Hindi titles and explore new storytelling formats through Eklavya, an upcoming artificial intelligence-led project that introduces Yug R.Ai as its first AI actor.

Bigger Stage for Punjabi Cinema

With a dedicated platform, a promising content slate, and plans for international expansion, Tiger TV aims to give Punjabi entertainment a stronger digital presence. For Punjabi audiences at home and abroad, the platform could offer a new destination to celebrate their language, culture, and stories. As it prepares for launch, Tiger TV is looking to take Punjabi entertainment beyond borders and bring its stories to an even wider audience.
