What is Muse? Mark Zuckerberg introduces Meta’s new personal AI agent and how to use it?

AI is slowly becoming more than just a tool we use to find answers. Now, it wants to help us get things done too. Mark Zuckerberg has announced Muse, Meta’s new personal AI agent, which he says is designed to understand a person’s goals and work for them 24/7.

From planning family activities and managing health to finding ways to save money, Muse is being presented as an AI assistant that can take action instead of simply chatting with users.

What Is Muse?

According to Zuckerberg, Muse is built to understand what matters to you and what you want to achieve. It can help with areas such as relationships, health, home management, business and finances. The biggest difference between Muse and a regular chatbot is simple: Muse does not just answer questions it gets things done. Users can interact with Muse through its app, while Meta is also making the agent available through WhatsApp.

How Is Mark Zuckerberg Using Muse?

Zuckerberg also shared some personal examples of how he uses Muse. He said he uses it to organise projects with his children, including ordering ingredients to bake with his youngest daughter and getting permits for mountain-climbing trips with his oldest daughter.

He also said Muse helps him monitor his MMA training and health. Another interesting use, he added, is helping him find talented researchers and people he would like to meet. So, Muse is not being presented as something that is limited to work or routine tasks. It is designed to become part of different areas of everyday life.

Muse Can Help With Money, Health And Plans

Zuckerberg said Muse can also help users save money by finding subscriptions they are paying for but no longer use. It can also help with fitness. For example, if someone is training for a race but has a few nights of poor sleep, Muse could adjust their training plan accordingly. Planning trips, organising nights out with friends and managing different projects are also among the tasks Muse is designed to help with.

What About Privacy And Security?

With an AI agent handling personal information and taking actions, privacy becomes a major concern. Meta says it has built Muse with security in mind. Zuckerberg explained that Muse Secure VM works like a private computer for the AI and the user's information. Meta has also created a secure credential store for passwords and credit cards, meaning Muse itself cannot read that sensitive information.

Muse will also check with the user before taking sensitive actions, such as making payments or sending messages.

Zuckerberg said Meta plans to introduce an even higher level of security where even Meta would not be able to access information inside a user's Muse agent. He compared the approach to the encryption used by WhatsApp.

How Much Does Muse Cost?

Muse is free for up to 100 million tokens per week, while subscription plans will be available for people who want to use it more. For Zuckerberg, Muse is more than just another AI product. He described it as the beginning of Meta's journey towards “personal super intelligence.”

Whether Muse becomes a regular part of everyday life remains to be seen, but Meta's message is clear: the next generation of AI may not just tell us what to do  it could actually do it for us.

Is Muse Safe To Use?

Since Muse can perform tasks on a user’s behalf, privacy and security are important. Each user operates through an isolated Linux virtual machine with its own browser and storage. Meta also uses separate security-monitoring agents called Sentinel, which check network activity. For sensitive actions, such as making payments, Muse can ask the user for permission before moving ahead.

Muse is currently being rolled out to users in the United States. Meta also has a free tier, while paid plans are available for people who need more extensive usage.

Why Is Muse Getting Attention?

Muse is another sign that the AI world is moving beyond simple conversations.
