With a touch of patriotism, the song is set against the backdrop of an earlier era of independent India. The song tells the story of Parmish Verma and Gauhar Khan's love story, in which Verma is a freedom warrior who adores Gauhar.

'Dil Ka Gehna' made me think of my grandparents during the 1940s," Gauhar Khan said. Today, we refer to our buddies as Best Friend, BFF, 2 am Friend, Pen Friend, and so on. While most young generation couples in the 1940s were simply with each other, in the song, Parmish Verma and I are just with each other.

Gauhar Khan further states about working with such an amazing team, "In this song, I'm portraying an ecstatic Punjabi girl from the time period, who had a life-changing encounter. It's a dream come true to collaborate with so many talented presenters on such a moving subject and theme. "I'm overjoyed that I've been able to bring this song to your attention."
