Hairstylist Jawed Habib asks for an apology after his 'hair spitting' incident got viral on internet; watch video
Jawed Habib, a celebrity hairstylist, was trending on Twitter on Thursday when a video of him spitting on a woman's head surfaced on social media. The video sparked a debate on the internet. The famous hairstylist has now apologized via video message. The video was taken during a session held by Habib in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh.

Jawed Habib noted in his apologetic video that such things are regularly done with a "humorous" motive during workshops. He was, however, deeply sorry if anyone had been harmed as a result of this.
“During my seminar, I said certain things that hurt a few people. I just want to clarify that they are professional workshops, meaning that they are attended by experts in our field. We have to make these sessions funny when they grow too long. I'm not sure what to say. If you have been hurt, please accept my heartfelt apologies. In the video, Jawed Habib can be heard pleading, "Please forgive me, I am sorry."

On Thursday, the National Commission for Women (NCW) announced on Twitter that its chairman, Rekha Sharma, had written to the Director-General of Police (DGP) of Uttar Pradesh, requesting action.

In Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, the incident occurred in Habib's workshop. Pooja Gupta, the owner of a beauty parlor, has been recognized as the woman in the video. Habib allegedly misbehaved with her after calling her on stage to give her a haircut, she said on social media.
