From Bollywood to Hollywood: Ishaan Khatter's Big Break in "The Perfect Couple"
Ishaan Khatter, known for his impressive acting skills in Bollywood, is set to make his Hollywood debut in the upcoming series "The Perfect Couple". The project features Hollywood heavyweights Nicole Kidman and Liev Schreiber alongside Khatter, making it a highly anticipated release.
Khatter announced the news of his upcoming project on Instagram, revealing that he will be playing the role of Shooter Dival, the groom's best friend, played by Billy Howle. "The Perfect Couple" is an adaptation of Elin Hilderbrand's novel of the same name.
Khatter's performance in Majid Majidi's "Beyond the Clouds" and his appearance in "Dhadak" opposite Janhvi Kapoor were highly acclaimed. His talent also shone through in Mira Nair's adaptation of "A Suitable Boy". The star is certainly on the rise with his yet another project 'Pippa', in which he would play Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta.
Many of Khatter's peers, including Tanya Maniktala, Sayani Gupta, Dia Mirza, and Priyanshu Paniyuli, congratulated him on his debut Hollywood project, praising his talent and versatility as an actor. It's worth noting that one of them even remarked that Khatter's career did not need the backing of big production houses like Karan Johar or Yash Raj Films, as the West was casting good character actors in its projects.
Khatter's father, Rajesh Khatter, also expressed his love and support for his son on social media. The young actor's talent has been recognized and appreciated by renowned filmmakers like Mira Nair and Guneet Monga.
In 2022, Khatter broke up with Ananya Panday, but he revealed that he still considers her a friend. He shared that his brother, Shahid Kapoor, advised him not to lose himself in a relationship, which Khatter believes helped him stay focused on his career.
With "The Perfect Couple" marking Khatter's Hollywood debut, fans are eager to see how the young actor fares on the global stage.
