Irrfan Khan and Bhanu Athaiya were remembered in Oscars 2021's Memoriam section!

The year 2020, was surely a year that witnessed the most number of heavenly abode of many people. Even our Film industry, has witnessed a huge loss with the untimely demise of many prominent artists. On Sunday, April 25 the 93rd Academy Awards was held and in their In Memorium segment, many Indian artists were paid tribute. Irrfan Khan and Bhanu Athaiya were remembered at the event.

Irrfan Khan, the global star has worked in several International movies and left everyone awestruck with his stupendous performance. On April 29, 2020 said us goodbye and took his heavenly abode. His untimely demise not just left the Bollywood in shock but many International artists were astonished. Other than, Irrfan Khan; Bhanu Athaiya was also remembered at the event. She was the first Oscar winner from India to take the Best Costume Design trophy for the film ‘Gandhi’ released in 1982. She passed away after battling with cancer in 2020.

Among others who were remembered at the event were Ian Holm, Sean Connery, Max von Sydow, Christopher Plummer, Chadwick Boseman, Cicely Tyson, Cloris Leachman, Yaphet Kotto, Joel Schumacher, Bertrand Tavernier, Jean-Claude Carrière, Olivia de Havilland, Paula Kelly, George Seagal.

On the official website of the Academy Awards, Rishi Kapoor and Sushant Singh Rajput were also remembered. Talking about the winners, Nomadland directed by Chloe Zhao was among the one which received the most number of trophies.
