The shooting of Aalia Bhatt starrer ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ recently was wrapped up about which the lead actress shared through her social media accounts. Aalia Bhatt took to her Instagram to share a heartfelt note as the shoot wrapped up.
Gangubai Kathiawadi is being helmed by famous directed Sanjay Leela Bhansali and has been finally wrapped up after two years of its journey.
While sharing the news of the same Aalia Bhatt wrote a brief note on her journey of ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ and spoke about her learnings and things she adapted while working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
She shared a series of images from the last day of her shoot and wrote, “We started shooting Gangubai on the 8th of December 2019 .. and we wrapped the film now 2 years later!
This film and set has been through two lockdowns.. two cyclones.. director and actor getting covid during the making!!! the troubles the set has faced is another film all together!”
The actress further said, “But through all that and more.. what I take away is the gigantic life changing experience!
Being directed by sir has been a dream all my life, but I don’t think anything would have prepared me for the journey I was on for these two years.. I walk out of this set a diff person today!
I love you sir! Thank you for being you .. there is truly NO ONE like you 🪄✨
When a film ends a part of you ends with it! Today I’ve lost a part of me.. Gangu I love you! You will be missed♥️

Meanwhile, the teaser of the film was dropped in February 2021. This is the very first time Aalia has worked with ace director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Earlier, the film was schedule to be released on September 2020 but due to the Covid-19 outbreak it got delayed.
The film is based on S. Hussain Zaidi’s book ‘Mafia Queens of Mumbai' and revolved around the story of a brothel owner Gangubai Kothewali.
Aalia Bhatt’s ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ will now hit the theaters on July 30th 2021.
