Karan Johar beings filming 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani' starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh!
After the success of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil five years ago, filmmaker Karan Johar is back in the director's chair with Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. Today, August 20, signifies the beginning of filming for the film. The announcement was made today, and it stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles.
Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt released videos from their look test, poster shoot, and reading session to their respective social media accounts. The actor was dressed casually in a printed suit in the video, while Bhatt was dressed more traditionally, though we only got a glimpse of her.

The video also includes director Karan Johar, designer Manish Malhotra, and several cast and crew members as they begin their first schedule. It concludes with Alia hugging Ranveer.
"Shuru ho gayi hai yeh anokhi kahani of Rocky & Rani. Toh dijiye humein apna aashirvaad aur pyaar, aur chaliye iss safar mein hamaare saath!" writes Ranveer Singh while sharing the video.
Whereas, Karan captions the same as, "The day is finally here & I have so many feelings going on in my head but what emerges at the top is - gratitude! As we begin our kahani ka first schedule, seeking all your pyaar & aashirvaad! It’s time to roll!?

Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi also play important roles in the film. Jaya, who has appeared in films such as Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and Kal Ho Na Ho, plays Ranveer's grandmother, while Dharmendra and Shabana play Alia's grandparents.
