'Amar Singh Chamkila' teaser: Diljit Dosanjh's first look as legendary singer 'Chamkila' leave netizens in awe

Diljit Dosanjh's fans were left stunned as the first look of his upcoming movie, 'Amar Singh Chamkila', was unveiled. Netflix released a brief teaser on Tuesday morning, showcasing the singer-actor without his turban. While there has been no official confirmation from the actor, it appears that he is sporting a wig for the role.

In this Imtiaz Ali film, Diljit portrays the legendary musician from Punjab, Amar Singh Chamkila, who holds the record for the highest number of records sold. Parineeti Chopra will be playing the role of Amarjot Kaur, Amar Singh Chamkila's partner, in the movie.

Amar Singh Chamkila, along with his wife and two band members, tragically lost his life on March 8, 1988, at the young age of 27. Despite his short life, he had already achieved legendary status as a vocalist. In the teaser, which lasts for 1 minute and 11 seconds, Diljit Dosanjh's portrayal of Amar Singh Chamkila is introduced to the viewers. He looks remarkably different and almost unrecognizable in the video.

Netflix India's official account shared the teaser, captioning it, "Jo naam saalon se aapke dil aur dimaag pe chaaya hai woh ab aapke saamne aaya hai. Watch the untold story of Punjab's highest record-selling artist, Amar Singh #Chamkila, coming soon only on Netflix!"

However, some of Diljit's fans expressed their disappointment at seeing him without the turban. In the comments section, one admirer wrote, "This broke my heart, it won't work without the turban." Another person commented, "This is not a good haircut; you shouldn't have done it." Someone else questioned, "Why does it seem incomplete? Why does Diljit look somewhat incomplete?"

The movie is set in Punjab and revolves around the real-life musician couple Amar Singh Chamkila and Amarjot Kaur, who were tragically assassinated in 1988 along with two other band members.
