Netflix's Arcane Season 2 : Expected Release Date, Plot, and Official Information

After the huge success of Season 1, the much-awaited Season 2 of the hit animated series, Arcane, based on the popular video game League of Legends (LoL), may not be released this year as initially expected.

The streaming giant Netflix and game developer Riot Games announced the green light for a sophomore season shortly after the success of the first season. Riot CEO Nicolo Laurent had earlier hinted that the production process for Season 2 would not take as long as the first one, but it would not be released in 2023.

In a recent interview with Chinese outlet Billibilli, Laurent revealed that unfortunately, Arcane Season 2 would not be released in 2023 either. The CEO cited two main reasons for the delay. The first reason is the team's dedication to maintaining the quality of the show, which means they don't want to rush the production process. The second reason is not explicitly stated, but it is assumed to be related to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has caused delays in many productions worldwide.

Furthermore, Laurent confirmed that the production of Season 2 is currently in progress, indicating that the show is moving forward, but fans may have to wait another year before seeing it.
