From Diljit Dosanjh to Sonam Bajwa: Punjabi Celebs stand with students amid NEET UG protest over NEET Paper Leak

The ongoing NEET UG protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar has received support from several celebrities across the country, including many prominent Punjabi stars. Several Punjabi celebrities, including Diljit Dosanjh, Sonam Bajwa, Neeru Bajwa, Jasbir Jassi, and Himanshi Khurana, have extended their support to the ongoing NEET UG protest at Jantar Mantar. As students continue to demand justice over the alleged NEET paper leak and examination irregularities, the stars have shared messages calling for transparency, accountability, and respectful dialogue while standing in solidarity with the youth.

Diljit Dosanjh Requests Authorities to Listen to Students

Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh shared a powerful message supporting the students and appealed to the authorities to address their concerns.

He wrote, "Aj Jo hoyea Baut Maada Hoyea.. Students Naal Edan Treat Nhi Hona Chaida c.. Mai Authorities Nu Request Karda Ke Students Dian Demands Nu sunn Leya Javey.. Lokan Di Avaaz Rab Di Avaaz Hundi Aa.."

Diljit also reflected on the criticism he has faced in the past for speaking on public issues. Without changing his stance, he added,

"Mere Te Already Anti Nationalist Da Tag Baut Vaar Lagg Chuka.. Hun V Mainu Anti-nationalist Keha Jaega. After Kisan Protest.. I faced a Lot of Backlash & Legal Problems which I can’t Even Discuss.. BAKI RAB SAB DEKH REHA, BABA BHALLI KARU."

Sonam Bajwa Speaks About Fairness and the Right to Education

Actor Sonam Bajwa also voiced her support for the students through social media. She first shared a post that read: "Education is not a privilege. It is a basic human right." She followed it with a detailed message highlighting the need for fairness, transparency, and respectful dialogue.

Sonam Bajwa wrote,

"These are young voices of our Country, not threats. Why are they being met with lathis instead of listening? This isn’t about politics it's about choosing empathy over force. They deserve to be heard, not hurt 💔"

Expressing hope for a positive outcome, she further added, "I truly hope their voices are heard, their concerns are discussed, justice is served and that meaningful steps are taken to protect the future of our youth."

Neeru Bajwa Calls for Dialogue and Compassion

Actor Neeru Bajwa also shared a heartfelt note supporting the students. Stressing that democracy is strongest when people can express themselves freely, she wrote, "Democracy is strongest when people are free to ask questions, express their views, and be heard without fear."

She further added, "My thoughts are with the students in Delhi and everyone peacefully standing up for their right to education, dignity, and a voice. Supporting students is not about politics it's about supporting the future."

Calling for understanding and peaceful communication, Neeru concluded,

"No matter where we stand on any issue, we should all be able to agree that peaceful expression, respectful dialogue, and compassion are the foundations of a healthy democracy. I hope these concerns are met with understanding, meaningful conversation, and solutions that uphold the values of justice, respect, and human rights."

Jasbir Jassi Urges Leaders to Support Students

Punjabi singer Jasbir Jassi also reacted to the protests with a strong appeal directed at political leaders. He wrote, "Students taan tuade bache ee aaaa Ehna naaal pyaar naaal gall karni chahidi. Bachian di gall sunani zaruru hai, kisse passe ton vi politics nai honi chahidi."

Himanshi Khurana Extends Solidarity

Singer and actor Himanshi Khurana also shared her support for the ongoing demonstrations. She wrote, "Standing in solidarity with everyone protesting at Jantar Mantar, demanding transparency, accountability, and justice in the NEET paper leak matter. The future of our youth cannot be compromised."

Other Celebrities Also Raise Their Voices

Apart from Punjabi celebrities, several other personalities also reacted to the ongoing protests.

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap criticised the handling of the demonstrations and questioned the actions of the police personnel deployed at the protest site.

Actors Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia Deshmukh released a joint statement expressing solidarity with the students. They said the youth are the strength of the country's democracy and that their voices should be heard without fear.

Actor Huma Qureshi expressed sadness over the reported use of force against peaceful protesters. She said the situation could have been handled with greater patience, dialogue, and understanding.

What Is the NEET UG Protest About?

The protests at Jantar Mantar began after students raised concerns over alleged irregularities in competitive examinations, including the NEET UG paper leak. Students are demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and are seeking greater transparency and accountability in the examination process.

NEET is India's largest medical entrance examination, with over two million candidates appearing every year. The exam was cancelled in May following allegations that the question paper had been leaked before the test. A re-examination was conducted later that month.

The controversy was further followed by complaints regarding the CBSE online evaluation system, with several students alleging incorrect marks and result-related errors.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during the NDA Parliamentary Party's 'Mangal Milan' meeting, called for stringent punishment for those responsible for the NEET paper leak. Quoting the Prime Minister, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said that preventing such incidents was a national responsibility.
