Punjabi Singer Dolly Guleria’s husband Lt. Col. Sharanjit Singh Guleria dies at 85

Renowned Punjabi folk singer Dolly Guleria is mourning the death of her husband, Lt. Col. Sharanjit Singh Guleria, who passed away on September 5, 2026. He was 85. Sharanjit Singh was not only Dolly Guleria’s life partner but also an important source of support throughout her musical journey. His death has left the family, friends and fans deeply saddened.

Dolly Guleria and Sharanjit Singh Guleria’s Bond

Dolly Guleria and Lt. Col. Sharanjit Singh Guleria got married in 1970. The couple shared a relationship that lasted for more than five decades. Sharanjit Singh stood by Dolly through different phases of her life and played an important role in encouraging her to follow her passion for music.

After their marriage, Dolly moved away from her career related to medical studies. However, after the birth of their children, her husband encouraged her to continue her training in classical music. With his support, Dolly continued learning music and later built a successful career as a Punjabi singer.

He Supported Dolly’s Singing Career

Sharanjit Singh served in the Indian Army and later retired from the service. After his retirement, he became actively involved in managing Dolly Guleria’s professional work. He looked after her bookings, recordings and media-related responsibilities, allowing her to focus on her music.

Dolly received classical music training from Ustad Abdul Rahman Khan, popularly known as ‘Khan Sahib’. She later became a recognised name in Punjabi folk music.

Dolly Guleria and Sharanjit Singh Guleria have three children daughter Sunaini Sharma and sons Dilpreet Singh and Amanpreet Singh. The family has remained an important part of their lives, and Sharanjit Singh’s demise is a difficult loss for all of them.

When and Where Are the Last Rites?

According to the family’s condolence notice, the last rites of Lt. Col. Sharanjit Singh Guleria will take place on September 7, 2026, at 3 PM. The cremation will be held at Brar Square, Delhi Cantonment. Dolly Guleria’s fans and well-wishers have expressed their condolences and offered prayers to the family during this difficult time.
