Assamese actor Kishor Das death: Kishor Das, an actor from Assam, died at the age of 30. The actor passed away while receiving treatment in Chennai after a long and severe battle with cancer.
The 30-year-old actor, who was in numerous music videos, died at a Chennai hospital where he had been receiving care since March of this year. The well-known Assamese actor from Kamrup was reportedly suffering from COVID-19 at the time of his death. Due to pandemic rules, his mortal remains could not be transported to his native place, therefore his final rites had to be done in Chennai on Saturday evening.
In March of last year, Das relocated to Chennai in the expectation of getting better care. He had previously been undergoing therapy in Guwahati.
Several of his well-known works include his appearances in popular Assamese television programmes like Bidhata, Bandhun, and Nedekha Fagun.
Since his mortal remains could not be transported to his hometown of Mirza because of coronavirus pandemic regulations, the actor's final rites were conducted in Chennai on Saturday evening.
“Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma communicated with the Tamil Nadu government to make arrangements to send the actor’s body to Assam but it could not happen owing to the Covid-19 restrictions,” Hemanga Thakuria, a local MLA from the Palashbari district informed media.
Das had also performed the well-known Assamese song "turut turut," which was an immediate hit with young people. The song went on to be one of the most famous tunes in the state. His most recent appearance was in the Assamese film Dada Tumi Dusto Bor. The actor was quite well-liked on social media and frequently engaged with his followers. In 2019, he also received the "Candid Young Achievement" award.
