'Shaakuntalam' movie: Samantha Ruth Prabhu gets teary-eye at trailer launch

'Shaakuntalam' movie: The mythological drama Shaakuntalam, starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu, is about to hit theatres. In connection with a large official launch in Hyderabad, the trailer was today made available in Hindi and all South Asian languages. At the event, the actress gave a beautiful speech while breaking down in tears. Samantha started to cry as she approached the podium to speak, but she was also incredibly appreciative of her fans and the reception to the trailer.

In her opening statement, Samantha asked her audience's opinion on the trailer. She stated, “For some people, watching movies is simply a small part of life, but for Gunasekhar, it is his entire life.  With his entire life and a lot of effort, he made Shaakuntalam. That's why I came here: I hope to receive your love and gratitude following the trailer's release.

Every actor hopes the narration will be the greatest when they hear it, she continued, but occasionally something magical might happen that is beyond our wildest dreams. That is how I felt after watching Shaakuntalam. And no matter what challenges I encounter in life, my love for movies and the way the movie industry loves me in return remain constant. I think Shaakuntalam will make you adore me even more."

The drama Abhijnanashakuntalam, penned by poet Kalidasa, was the inspiration for the mythical film Shaakuntalam. Additionally playing significant roles in the upcoming drama are Mohan Babu, Sachin Khedekar, Gautami, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla, and Varshini Sounderajan. Allu Arha, the daughter of actor Allu Arjun, makes her cinematic debut as well.

The film is slated to be released in theaters on February 17.
