The Mumbai police have arrested actor Shilpa Shetty's husband, businessman Raj Kundra, in connection with a pornographic film case. Mr. Kundra was arrested on Monday, according to the Mumbai Police Department, "since he appears to be the main conspirator in this."
The police also stated that they have "adequate evidence" against him, but they are continuing their investigation.
The complaint was filed with the Mumbai Crime Branch in February this year, and it involved the making of pornographic videos and their distribution through several apps.
"In February 2021, a case was filed with the Crime Branch of Mumbai over the making of pornographic videos and their distribution through various apps. On 19/7/21, we apprehended Mr Raj Kundra in this case, as he seems to be the main conspirator. We have strong evidence in this respect" Mumbai Police Commissioner stated.
Raj Kundra has demanded anticipatory bail in the case, denying any wrongdoing.
Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty married in 2009, and their first child, Viaan Raj Kundra, was born in 2012. Last year, the couple welcomed their second child, a daughter named Samisha, via surrogacy.
