Day after the Punjab government had curtailed his security cover, the Punjabi singer-turned-politician Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead by unidentified men in Jawaharke village in Mansa district on Sunday.

Reportedly, the incident took place at 5.25 pm on Sunday while the police got information at 5.50 pm. As per sources, citing the initial post-mortem report, the presence of gunpowder on the body of Sidhu Moose Wala indicated that he was fired from very close range and that the weapon was brought close to his body.
"Sidhu Moose Wala was hit by more than 25 bullets. Gunpowder was found on his body. He died before being brought to the hospital. The incident happened around 5.25 pm, while the police got information around 5.50 pm," a source told ANI.
Sidhu Moose Wala was cremated on Tuesday at his native village Moosa in the Mansa district. A huge crowd gathered to pay their tributes to the Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala whose death was a shock for the entire state.
Meanwhile, Canada-based Goldy Brar had claimed responsibility for the murder and notably, he is a close aide of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
