The Kashmir Files director Vivek Agnihotri took a dig at Bollywood actress Dia Mirza for expressing gratitude to outgoing Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray in a recent post. When she complimented Uddhav for caring for "the people and the world," Vivek enquired as to which planet she was referring to and if it was "Planet Bollywood."
On Twitter, Dia expressed her gratitude for Uddhav Thackeray as Eknath Shinde assumed the position of chief minister of Maharashtra on Thursday night.
Dia wrote, “Thank you @OfficeofUT. You cared for people and the planet. Conveying my gratitude and respect here. May you have many more opportunities to serve the nation.”
Immediately reacting on Dia’s remark, Vivek questioned Dia, “Which planet? Planet Bollywood?”
The actress's supporters defended her as soon as he started making fun of her. Many of her followers sent a tweet from ANI stating that the Metro vehicle shed at Aarey Colony is being built despite resistance from environmentalists by the new government.
Earlier on Thursday, Bollywood stars Swara Bhasker and Simi Garewal came under fire from film director Vivek Agnihotri for supporting Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray during the state's existing political crisis.
Kangana Ranaut posted a video statement on Instagram following Uddhav Thackeray's resignation as Maharashtra's chief minister on Wednesday, “When evil takes over, destruction is imminent. After that, there is creation. The lotus of life blooms.”
