Instead, it is a symbol of the Pataudi State, a principality established in 1804 during the British East India Company's rule. Nawab Faiz Talab Khan, an ancestor of Saif Ali Khan, was the inaugural ruler of this princely state. Originating from Afghanistan, Talab Khan's relocation to India marked the beginning of a legacy that persists through the enduring presence of the Pataudi Palace flag. The flag itself is characterized by green, yellow, and orange stripes, serving as a testament to the palace's rich historical roots.
