However, what took everyone by surprise was Ranveer's revelation that they were secretly engaged for three years before tying the knot. This revelation left host Karan Johar visibly astonished. "I proposed in 2015, and we were secretly engaged for three years," Ranveer disclosed, shedding light on their well-kept secret.

A Priceless Engagement Ring

Ranveer Singh's proposal to Deepika Padukone took place during a romantic getaway in the Maldives in 2015. He admitted that he bought her engagement ring before embarking on the trip, and it was a piece that exceeded his financial means at the time. Ranveer admitted that experiencing three consecutive film flops was a new and challenging experience for him.
