Mukesh Chhabra Dismisses Criticism of Salman Khan, Hails Shah Rukh Khan as Bollywood's Ultimate Star
Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan are two of Bollywood’s most celebrated superstars, each commanding a vast and dedicated fanbase. Despite his immense popularity, Salman Khan has faced a series of box office disappointments in recent years, leading some to label him as an underutilized actor. However, Mukesh Chhabra, a prominent casting director in Bollywood, recently addressed this perception and also shared his views on Shah Rukh Khan’s enduring stardom.

Salman Khan: Misunderstood or Underutilized?
Mukesh Chhabra firmly disagrees with the notion that Salman Khan is underutilized. “Nhi bhai, unhone boht achi performances di hai,” he stated, citing some of Salman’s standout performances in films like Baaghi, Patthar Ke Phool, Tere Naam, Love, and Hum Aapke Hain Koun. Chhabra emphasized that no one could have portrayed the “simple and honest” character in Bajrangi Bhaijaan as convincingly as Salman did, nor could anyone match his roles in No Entry and Partner. He expressed a desire to see more such films from Salman.
Chhabra dismissed the idea that Salman is underutilized as a narrative created by random social media users. “2-4 log social media pe Chintu, Bablu, Tinku ghoom rahe hai,” he remarked, suggesting that these opinions do not reflect Salman’s true talent and contributions to Bollywood.

Shah Rukh Khan: The Ultimate Superstar
In the same discussion, Mukesh Chhabra referred to Shah Rukh Khan as the “last of the stars.” When asked to elaborate, he explained, “It’s said that the galaxy is huge and there can be many stars, but he will remain the biggest.” Chhabra asserted that while there may be many stars in Bollywood, none can compare to Shah Rukh Khan. He praised SRK as an outsider who has reached the pinnacle of success, serving as a powerful example in the industry's ongoing outsider vs. insider debate.
