In the bustling city of Mumbai, the celebrated actress Parineeti Chopra has recently made headlines for her upcoming film, 'Chamkila,' where she shares the screen with Diljit Dosanjh. Notably, Chopra dedicated herself to the role by deliberately gaining 15 kilograms, a transformation that has captivated the attention of her fans.
On September 25, Parineeti Chopra exchanged vows with Raghav Chadha, a prominent figure in the Aam Aadmi Party. Following her nuptials, the talented actress seamlessly re-entered the Bollywood landscape, gracing the screen in the film "Mission Ranganj," alongside Akshay Kumar. Remarkably, the shooting for this film concluded before her marriage, showcasing Chopra's commitment to her craft.
Currently, Parineeti is engrossed in discussions surrounding 'Chamkila,' directed by the renowned Imtiaz Ali. Within this cinematic venture, she steps into the role of Amarjot Singh Chamkila, the wife of the acclaimed Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila. This portrayal demanded a deliberate weight gain, underscoring the actress's dedication to her craft.
Sharing her experiences with fans, Parineeti took to Instagram, unveiling surprising details about her transformative journey. In a video post, she shared, "I spent six months at Rahman Sir's studio this year for singing and ended up indulging in as much junk food as possible to gain 15 kilograms for Chamkila. This film will soon be released on Netflix." However, the real challenge lies in maintaining her weight post-filming.
Parineeti further wrote, "Music and food, which were once my routine, have now transformed into a film. I am now back at the gym to regain my fitness. Not as intense as Amarjot, he was too hard, but Imtiaz Sir, you are prepared to do everything for your role. Shaping up is still a work in progress; keep going."
Worth noting is that the film 'Chamkila' narrates the poignant tale of two Punjabi star singers, Amar Singh Chamkila and his wife Amarjot Kaur, who were tragically shot during a stage performance in 1988. At the tender age of 27, Amar Singh Chamkila enjoyed nationwide popularity. The film is eagerly anticipated for its Netflix release, promising a riveting exploration of this dramatic chapter in Punjabi music history.
