'Pippa' OTT release: Ishaan Khatter, film to 'NOT' release online directly; makes issues statement

'Pippa' movie OTT release: The movie 'Pippa', which stars Ishaan Khatter, will not get an OTT release, according to its makers.

The film's developers are encountering problems with the multiplex owners, according to rumours that surfaced on Thursday. The movie, which is based on the conflict of 1971, will release digitally.

But on Friday, a joint statement from the film's producers, Ronnie Screwvala, Siddharth Roy Kapur, and Kamal Gianchandani of PVR Inox, who also represents the Multiplex Association of India (MAI), was released. The creators have disproved all rumours.

RSVP movies shared a post on their Twitter account in which they issued an official rejection of the OTT release of Pippa. The post stated: “This is in regard to an article that appeared in a newspaper publication yesterday with the headline “PIPPED FOR AN OTT RELEASE”, which made some completely unsubstantiated assertions about supposed issues between the producers of PIPPA and multiplex operators, causing PIPPA to allegedly opt for an OTT release.”

"Neither the makers nor any multiplex operator/s were approached for comment before the publication of this piece," the post about Pippa's release said.

Raja Krishna Menon is the director of the military drama 'Pippa'. Ishaan plays a young Brigadier Balram Singh Mehtm in the movie, which is based on his biography 'The Burning Chaffees'. The action-packed 48-hour Battle of Garibpur during the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War serves as the backdrop for the tale of three siblings, which is told in the movie. Soni Razdan, Priyanshu Painyuli, and Mrunal Thakur are featured as well.
