Shah Rukh Khan Hospitalised Due to Heat Stroke During Visit to Ahmedabad
Superstar Shah Rukh Khan was admitted to KD Hospital in Ahmedabad after suffering from a heat stroke. The incident occurred on Wednesday during his visit to the state.
Reports stated that the actor experienced dehydration due to the scorching heat, with temperatures soaring to 45 degrees Celsius in Ahmedabad because of which the actor was admitted to the hospital. Although his condition was stable, he remained under medical observation. Security around the hospital was tightened as a precautionary measure.
Actress Juhi Chawla, a close friend of Shah Rukh Khan, visited him at the hospital according to sources.
Shah Rukh Khan, who is also the co-owner of Kolkata Knight Riders, had travelled to Ahmedabad to attend an Indian Premier League (IPL) match of his team at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Kolkata Knight Riders secured a place in the IPL final with a convincing eight-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad in Qualifier 1 on Tuesday.
News of the actor's hospitalization drew a crowd of concerned fans near the multi-specialty hospital on the Sarkhej–Gandhinagar highway, prompting the deployment of police to manage the situation. The temperature in Ahmedabad peaked at 45.9°C on Wednesday, slightly higher than Tuesday's maximum of 45.2°C.
The India Meteorological Department issued an orange alert for Gujarat until May 25, cautioning people about the increased risk of heat-related illnesses for those exposed to the sun for prolonged periods or engaged in heavy work.
On the professional front, Shah Rukh Khan was last seen in the movie "Dunki." His upcoming project, reportedly titled "King," is anticipated to feature him alongside his daughter, Suhana Khan.
