In 1999, she shot to fame by clinching the prestigious Miss World title, catapulting her into the glamorous world of showbiz. However, her journey through the entertainment industry was not without its challenges. In this special birthday feature, we delve into the various facets of Yukta Mukhi's life, from her early years in Dubai to her tumultuous relationship and career in Bollywood.

Early Life in Dubai

Yukta Mookhey hails from a Sindhi family, and during her early years, she had no aspirations for the glitz and glamour of the entertainment world. Her family relocated to Dubai, where she spent her formative years. Eventually, they returned to Mumbai in 1988. In Mumbai, Yukta's mother ventured into the grooming salon business, while her father assumed the role of managing director in a clothing company.

The Journey to Miss World

In 1999, Yukta Mookhey embarked on a transformative journey when she decided to participate in the Femina Miss India competition. There, she astounded everyone by winning the coveted title of Miss India World, setting the stage for her participation in the Miss World competition. This victory opened the doors to Bollywood for Yukta, who was now ready to take on the world of cinema.

Challenges in Her Career Path

Yukta Mookhey made her Bollywood debut in 2002 with the film "Pyaasa." She went on to feature in several other movies, including "Kathputli," "Love in Japan," "Kabhi Aaye Na Judaai," "Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon," "Swades," "Ghar Ki Izzat," "Market," among others. However, the competitive nature of the industry proved to be a formidable challenge. Despite her talent and beauty, Yukta struggled to attain the recognition she deserved. Choosing Rajkumar and the Ordeal

In 2008, when success remained elusive in her career, Yukta Mookhey entered into a relationship with Prince Tuli, a New York-based businessman. The two tied the knot and appeared to be a happy couple. However, their marriage took a tumultuous turn, shocking those who knew them. In 2013, Yukta lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against her husband, accusing him of grave offenses, including dowry harassment and engaging in unnatural relationships. This revelation sent shockwaves through the industry and the public alike. In June 2014, the couple amicably obtained a divorce, with Yukta Mookhey gaining custody of their son.
