'Zara Hatke Zara Bachke' movie review: With "Zara Hatke Zara Bachke," filmmaker Laxman Utekar once again proves his knack for delivering entertaining films, following the success of "Mimi" and "Luka Chuppi." Starring Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan, this movie revolves around a couple's desire to break free from their families and live an independent life. To avail themselves of the benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), the Indian government's flagship program, they decide to get a divorce. "Zara Hatke Zara Bachke" hits theaters on June 2.
"Zara Hatke Zara Bachke" is a delightful family comedy that will have you chuckling throughout the film. It skillfully presents the mundane aspects of life in a unique and refreshing way. However, the final portion of the movie may feel a bit monotonous.
While the second half of the movie may drag at times, the impactful climax manages to redeem the overall plot on which "Zara Hatke Zara Bachke" is built.
Laxman Utekar, known for his cinematography in hit films such as "English Vinglish," "Dear Zindagi," "Hindi Medium," and "102 Not Out," impresses once again with his portrayal of the small village ambiance. He successfully captures the essence of the setting.
The standout performances of Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan are what truly elevate the movie. Vicky portrays the quintessential middle-class male, effectively conveying every emotion in each moment. Sara, on the other hand, shines as a spirited Punjabi girl and the perfect middle-class daughter-in-law. Any newlywed couple will easily relate to their characters, and the chemistry between Sara and Vicky is incredible.
The supporting cast, including Inaamulhaq, Harcharan Chawla, Akash Khurana, Neeraj Sood, and Rakesh Bedi, who play Saumya's parents, as well as Inaamulhaq, Harcharan Chawla, and Akash Pandit, deliver outstanding performances.
"Zara Hatke Zara Bachke" is an absolute must-watch for its hilarious punchlines and well-timed comedy. In today's fast-paced world, this genuine family entertainment provides a much-needed respite from daily stress.
