Captain Vijayakanth, the veteran actor and politician, passed away on Thursday in Chennai due to pneumonia. Having tested positive for Covid-19, he was on ventilator support. The funeral ceremony is scheduled for Friday, marking the end of an era in Tamil cinema and politics.
A video circulating online captures the moment when Vijay, visibly distressed, walks through a crowd of fans. Suddenly, a slipper was thrown towards him, hitting him. Despite the disturbance, Vijay does not look back. A person accompanying him promptly throws the shoe back in the direction it came from.
The motive behind the apparent attack on Vijay remains unclear. However, a representative from one of actor Ajith's fan clubs issued a statement condemning the incident. The statement emphasized the importance of showing respect to individuals, regardless of any differences.
