Met Gala 2024: Isha Ambani Captivates Met Gala Crowd with Rahul Mishra Couture
Isha Ambani, a Director at Reliance Industries Limited, dazzled attendees at the Met Gala 2024 with her exquisite presence. The Met Gala, renowned as the pinnacle of fashion events held at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, saw Isha donning a stunning couture sari gown designed by Indian talent Rahul Mishra, accompanied by a striking long floral train. Styled by Anaita Shroff Adajania, Isha's ensemble was a captivating nod to this year's theme, "The Garden of Time."
Anaita took to Instagram to share glimpses of Isha's Met Gala look, which was not only visually striking but also environmentally conscious. According to Anaita, Isha's attire embraced sustainability by incorporating elements from Rahul Mishra's previous collections. Intricately hand-embroidered with delicate samples of flowers, butterflies, and dragonflies, the gown was a masterpiece crafted using techniques like Fareesha, Zardozi, Nakshi, and Dabka, along with French knots. This thoughtful design not only spoke volumes about the planet's condition but also offered a message of hope and renewal.
The creation of this magnificent ensemble was a collaborative effort that extended to Rahul Mishra's ateliers across several Indian villages, supporting numerous local craftspeople and weavers. Adding to the allure of her look was a clutch crafted by Swadesh, employing ancient Indian art forms of Nakashi and Miniature Painting. The exquisite Jade clutch featured an Indian Miniature Painting by Jaipur artisan Hari Narain Marotia, depicting India's national bird, the Mayura, with remarkable detail and expression. Completing the ensemble were traditional lotus hand bracelets, parrot earrings, and a flower choker designed by Viren Bhagat.
Isha's appearance at the Met Gala elicited admiration from fashion enthusiasts worldwide. Actress Janhvi Kapoor expressed her awe with the comment "Insane insane insane," while social media users echoed their admiration with comments like "Wow....love it."
This wasn't Isha's first foray into the Met Gala scene; she made her debut in 2017 and has since made memorable appearances in 2019 and 2023. In previous years, she collaborated with designer Prabal Gurung, exuding regal vibes in voluminous gowns that captivated the attention of fashion aficionados.
