In a now-deleted video shared on social media, Khanna criticized Singh, referencing his past naked photoshoot and stating that someone with such an image could not embody the essence of Shaktimaan.
However, recent events seem to suggest a shift in Khanna's stance. Just a couple of months after his critical video, Khanna posted on Instagram, sharing a video of Ranveer Singh visiting his office. In the accompanying caption, Khanna expressed curiosity about who would ultimately become Shaktimaan, emphasizing that the decision is not solely his to make but belongs to the audience.
Khanna also mentioned that he had met with Singh, describing their conversation as fruitful and acknowledging Singh's dynamic personality. He clarified that while Singh's visit was significant, no final decision had been made regarding the casting for Shaktimaan.
In a subsequent video, Khanna addressed rumours surrounding Singh's involvement in the project, affirming that he had never stated that Singh was confirmed for the role. This statement came amidst reports of Shaktimaan being developed as a superhero trilogy for the big screen, directed by Basil Joseph, known for his work on "Minnal Murali."
