On Sunday, July 23, 2023, Indigo during one of it's flights to Pune proudly hosted Subedar major Sanjay Kumar. The 47 year-old war hero who was awarded with Country's highest military accolade, 'Param Vir Chakra' for his immense bravery on war field. As the man of it's kind  was spotted onboarding the flight on Sunday, the airline took the opportunity to proudly honor him among the fellow passengers followed by a spectacular speech by the flight captain. 

Sweet gesture by Indigo airline

In the shared video by the airline, the captain can be seen standing and introducing the brave Kumar onboard just before the flight takes off in the air. They honored the Major with a wonderful speech and small token of gesture for his exemplary bravery and contribution of service towards his mother nation. The speech quoted, "We have a very special person on board today. We have a Param Vir Chakra Awardee Sir Sanjay Kumar Ji" prompting by a burst of applause by the other passengers throughout the cabin. The captain also took out time to mention that Major Sanjay Kumar is among the 21 war hero's of the history who had ever been awarded such a gallantry accolade. 

Who is Subedar Major Sanjay Kumar? 

The 47 year old, Subedar Major Sanjay Singh hails from the Bakain village of Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh. One among the 21 exceptional war hero's of the country' history, the man had shown exemplary valor and bravery during the infamous Kargil War between India and Pakistan in 1999. Joined Indian army in June 1996, he has served utterly for the sake of the nations peace at the '13 Jammu and Kashmir Rifles' regiment. According to the governments report, Sanjay was awarded with Param Vir Chakra during July 1999, “A leading scout of the attacking column at Point 4875 in Mushkoh Valley in Jammu & Kashmir,” the report quoted.
