Veteran Actress Tanuja Hospitalized Due to Age-Related Illnesses
Renowned actress Tanuja, an iconic figure in Hindi and Bengali cinema, was hospitalized in Mumbai on Sunday evening, December 18. At 80 years old, she is the mother of actresses Kajol and Tanisha Mukerji and the mother-in-law of actor Ajay Devgn. According to the latest reports, Tanuja is currently under observation in the ICU of a hospital in Mumbai’s Juhu area.
The reports suggest that Tanuja's hospitalization is a result of age-related illnesses. Despite her condition, a source has reassured her that she is doing well, and there is no cause for immediate concern. However, as of now, no official statement has been released by her family or representatives.
Tanuja, the daughter of filmmaker Kumarsen Samarth and actress Shobhna Samarth, has significantly contributed to Hindi and Bengali cinema. Her acting journey began as a child actor in the 1950 film "Hamari Beti," and she later transitioned to becoming a leading lady with "Hamari Yaad Aayegi" in 1961. Throughout her illustrious career, she starred in memorable films such as "Baharein Phir Bhi Ayengi," "Jewel Thief," "Paisa Ya Pyaar," "Haathi Mere Saathi," and "Mere Jeevan Sathi."
In Bengali cinema, Tanuja left an indelible mark with her performances in films like 'Deya Neya,' 'Anthony-Firingee,' 'Teen Bhuvaner Parey,' and 'Rajkumari,' among others.
