Sports have inspired several Bollywood and Punjabi films like ‘Soorma’, ‘Harjeeta’, and ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ among others. However, now a new sports film is going to be made, based on the life of the Indian basketball player Satnam Singh.

While Satnam Singh has always been inspired by sports films, and has always loved films based on sports, he feels unreal about his own biopic.

Satnam took down to his Twitter handle to share the excitement with his fans and followers. He wrote: "It's an amazing moment to see your own life's journey captured into a film! Absolutely unreal!"

Reportedly, he said, "It feels unreal that a film is being made on me. As a sportsman, I have always loved films based on sports, and I feel honoured that this film is my story. What excites me most is that this is a basketball film, the first of its kind."

He adds, "I hope that the film will boost the game and more kids will want to try it out. There is huge potential for the game to grow in India, if only more people come out in support of it."

Born in a small remote village, Baloke, Punjab, Satnam Singh Bhamara is the first Indian player to be drafted into National Basketball Association in 2015.

Led by Punjab State Youth team, Satnam was awarded with a scholarship under IMGR basketball training academy in Bradenton. He was selected by the Dallas Mavericks to play for the center position.
