Sardar Hari Singh Nalwa had discovered a city Haripur, which is now a part of Pakistan. Nalwa was the Chief of Army Staff of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, who led many wars against the Pathans. In terms of strategy and tactics, Hari Singh Nalwa is compared to the best generals of India.

Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn is not the first actor to consider being a part of Hari Singh Nalwa biopic.
