Amitabh Bachchan Donates Rs 51 Lakh, Provides Support To Assam Flood Victims

Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has called people to contribute generously for Assam as the floods have caused great damage to the state. The actor has made a donation of Rs 51 lakh for the victims of Assam floods.

The Chief Minister of Assam, Sarbananda Sanowal took down to Twitter to thank the legendary actor for his support.  He tweeted: “We appreciate Shri Amitabh Bachchan ji for contributing Rs. 51 lakh to Chief Minister's Relief Fund. This is a great gesture & show of care for the people. Thank you, on behalf of the people of Assam, for your support. @SrBachchan”

Retweeting the same tweet, Amitabh Bachchan asked his fans to help and contribute for the betterment of the state. He wrote: “Assam is in distress .. the floods have caused great damage .. send care and assistance for our brothers and sisters .. contribute generously to the CM Relief Fund .. I just did .. HAVE YOU ..? ???”

Earlier, actor Akshay Kumar donated Rs 2 crore for the cause of flood relief. He gave 1 crore each to to the CM Relief Fund & for Kaziranga Park rescue and appealed his fans to make their contribution for the same as well.

Meanwhile the volunteers of a helping Sikh community, Khalsa Aid, are already in the flood hit Assam region to provide free food and shelter to the victims.

On the workfront, Amitabh Bachchan is currently shooting for the Shoojit Sircar’s film ‘Gulabo Sitabo’ which is scheduled to release on April 24, 2020.
