Taapsee Pannu starrer ‘Manmarziyaan’ was released just a week ago and the film got stuck into controversies soon after. This movie is about love and relationships, but the dualities of one’s mind put it into controversies. There are certain scenes in this film that didn’t feel as right.

Sikh Sangat of Ambala feels certain things about this film depict Sikh Community wrongly. They have threatened to file an FIR against the makers of this movie. The scenes in point include – one wherein Abhishek removes his turban, smokes and goes to the Gurudwara next day, second wherein Taapsee smokes and third wherein Taapsee thinks about Vicky Kaushal while she is getting married to Abhishek in a traditional Sikh ceremony.

@anuragkashyap72 GE Sir, Sorry if would sound rude. I am a practicing sikh living in abroad. it is hard for us people to maintain sikhi swaroop as such and now this movie. I have been made a laughing stock in the Indian community here and being pointed cigarettes on my face (1/3)

Anurag Kashyap, however, shared a heartfelt apology to the people who got offended by the scene. HE said that the producers of the film have given into the demands by deleting the ‘hurtful’ scenes.

All I can say is I am sorry. That was never the intention. People can be cruel and frivolous . But I was caught up in telling the story of an individual .

I just did what I saw. What I saw right there. And 150 people were watching the shoot, mostly sikhs , it was on the road. And I did ask and they said yes that’s how it is. Not one person said it’s otherwise. Yes truth is harsh but that’s the truth .

Soon after this, Taapsee Pannu took it to her social media handle and tweeted a clear message to everyone about what she had in her mind.

One user had tweeted to the Bollywood star that, ‘I swear i wish i was her father, all i need is my belt and a jutti. Shittar mar mar ke I would of taken the actress vala bhoot out from her."  To this, Taapsee had replied, “I already feel bad for your kids. God give them strength to live.’

Vicky Kaushal also gave the user a piece of mind and wrote, “Dharam da maan rakhna jaande ho, apni thee da nahi. Phaaji bohot maan rakh laya apne Guruaan da ehegal karke.”

Arjun Kapoor also stood in support of Taapsee Pannu and said “No religion allows violence. Nothing in this world justifies what this man has said. The more I read this the more it fuels anger towards this crass thought process. Who gives any man the authority to raise their hand on someone and make them decide what they should do or not do.”
