Love & War: Vicky Kaushal’s first look comes with a mystery-packed vintage poster

The makers of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much-awaited film Love & War have finally revealed Vicky Kaushal’s first look. After sharing the posters of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, the team introduced Vicky’s character through a special vintage-style poster. The actor can be seen with a classic haircut and moustache, while trying to light a cigarette with an old-fashioned lighter.

The poster gives a strong retro feel and hints at the film’s period setting. Sharing the first look on social media, Vicky wrote, “Nazrein milengi, lekin hatengi nahin!” The poster also confirmed the film’s release date. Love & War is scheduled to arrive in theatres on January 21, 2027.

Alia Bhatt And Sonam Kapoor React

Vicky’s first-look poster quickly received reactions from several celebrities. His co-star Alia Bhatt reacted to the post with fire emojis, showing her excitement about the new look. Actor Sonam Kapoor also responded to the poster with clapping emojis.

The reactions added to the buzz around the film, especially as the makers have been revealing the three lead characters one by one.

Ranbir Kapoor And Alia Bhatt’s First Looks

Before Vicky’s poster, the makers had introduced Ranbir Kapoor’s character. His first-look poster showed him sitting in the driver’s seat of a vintage sports car. He was also seen with a bullet wound on his arm, adding a sense of mystery and drama to his character.

Alia Bhatt’s poster was released the following day. She appeared dressed in red, with the setting inspired by the retro cabaret style often seen in Hindi cinema during the 1960s and 1970s. Both posters have created curiosity about the characters and the world of the film.

Alia And Ranbir Reunite On Screen

Love & War was first announced in January 2024. The film marks the second on-screen collaboration between real-life couple Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor after Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra.

Both actors have also worked with Sanjay Leela Bhansali separately. Alia starred in Gangubai Kathiawadi, while Ranbir made his acting debut with Bhansali’s Saawariya. However, Love & War marks Vicky Kaushal’s first collaboration with the filmmaker.

Big-Budget Film

Vicky Kaushal was last seen in Chhaava, which became one of the highest-grossing films of 2025. With a reported budget of around Rs 425 crore, Love & War is also expected to be a major production.

According to a Variety India report, the three lead actors have reportedly not charged a fee for the film. The report also stated that the film has secured a reported Rs 130 crore Netflix deal, while its music and satellite rights have reportedly brought in another Rs 70–80 crore.
