Jiah Khan's case final verdict: The decision in the case of Jiah Khan's assisted suicide is now known, and Sooraj Pancholi can take a deep breath of relief. The special CBI court found the actor not guilty due to a lack of evidence. On Friday afternoon, the decision was made public. The actor was spotted entering the courtroom with his mother Zarina Wahab. Later, Jiah Khan's mother Rabia joined the actor to watch the decision.

For the family of Jiah Khan, the day has finally come after ten years! The entire country was in disbelief when the actress committed suicide in June 2013. At her Juhu, Mumbai, flat, the Nisahbd actress's body was discovered on June 3. But afterwards, a six-page letter from the deceased actress' home was found, in which Sooraj Pancholi was accused of making "conspiring to commit suicide." Later, the media got a copy of the letter.

The autopsy report determined that Jiah died from hanging, despite the fact that Jiah's mother, Rabiya Khan, labelled it a murder. After Mumbai police again ruled out murder in 2016, Rabiya approached the CBI to take over the investigation. A defamation lawsuit for Rs 100 crore was brought by Aditya Pancholi against Rabiya in 2014.

On June 3, 2013, Jiah Khan, who was 24 years old at the time of her death, was reportedly hanged in her Juhu home. On June 10, 2013, the Juhu police detained Sooraj Pancholi on suspicion of aiding suicide. He was held in detention for nearly a month before the Bombay High Court granted him bail on July 3. Sooraj claimed that the investigation and chargesheet were fraudulent in his final statement to the court, and that the prosecution's witnesses had testified against him at the direction of complainant Rabia Khan, the police, and the CBI.

Despite Sooraj's acquittal, Jiah Khan's mother is unhappy with the decision and intends to appeal it in the highest courts. She insisted that this case included murder, not suicide.
