Eternal Taal, UK's female dhol players get selected to perform during Cricket World Cup matches

United Kingdom’s first and only female dhol team, popularly known as Eternal Taal, got selected to perform during the upcoming cricket World Cup in England and Wales. The event is organised by the sport's governing body, the International Cricket Council (ICC), every four years.

The over one and a half month long tournament will kick-start from May 30. Teams like India, Pakistan, England, Australia, South Africa and others are taking part in the event. In all, there will be 48 ODIs to be played in the tournament which will conclude on July 14.

Eternal Taal took to their official Twitter handle to share the news with their fans. They posted a photograph of few of their members with the ICC Cricket World Cup Trophy and captioned the image as: “What makes us special, different and unique? We get chosen on a regular basis to perform at the most high profile, prestige events in the UK!#icccricketworldcup.”

Formed in 1999, Eternal Taal is drumming group that is trying to break free of stereotypes. The group is formed by Parv Kaur.

She got recognition for her effort after she was presented with the award for ‘Contribution of bhangra music in the UK’ by the House of Commons in the year 2010.
