Coming back to the phrase Sat Sri Akaal, let us decode it. This phrase is made up of three words ‘Sat’, ‘Sri’ and ‘Akaal’. ‘Sat’ here stands for true. Something which is real and something which is truthful. ‘Sri’ on the other hand is said to refer to someone who is respectable. ‘Akaal’ refers to something which cannot be measured in time. It stands for something which is timeless. Joining all the dots we come to know Sat Sri Akaal means God is true, he exists and his presence can’t be denied. Our respectable God who is Shromani is timeless and he shall live on forever.

So, when we reply for ‘Jo Bole So Nihaal’ with the phrase Sat Sri Akaal, it means who so ever accepts the fact that God is the only truth, he is the one who sits on the top and he is the only one who lives on forever, that person goes ‘Nihaal’ i.e that person shall go happy and satisfied. Hence, this phrase is spoken by people while meetings and greetings to remember God and to never forget that we are only humans who work according to him.
