Girls are not safe even with girls, writes Sara Gurpal on Chandigarh University row

Sara Gurpal on Chandigarh University news: In a shocking news, a girl from Chandigarh University, allegedly leaked private videos of her hostel friends on social media.

As soon as the news related to Chandigarh University went viral, a huge protest took place in Mohali, Punjab. After this, the suspect of the incident was taken into the custody.

While sharing a post she wrote, "Girls are not safe even with the girls! It's not about the gender, Its about the mentality Feeling really unfortunate for this incident that happened."

Meanwhile, Dr. R S Bawa, Pro-Chancellor, Chandigarh University said that several rumours were being circulated that 7 girls committed suicide, but there was nothing true. Neither any of the girl was admitted to the hospital in regard to the incident not anyone tried to commit suicide.

He further claimed that, the information regarding 60 objectionable videos of different students were entirely baseless and false. He confirmed that during the investigation, no videos of other girls were found except one video which a student had shared herself with her boyfriend.

All the rumors of objectionable videos shot of other girl students are totally false and baseless, he said.

Meanwhile, an FIR under IT Act has been registered and Punjab Police Department is conducting the further investigations. Also, the cell phones and other materials have been handed over to the police for investigation.
