Popular Punjabi artist Badshah is known for crooning hit Hindi, Punjabi, and Haryanvi songs. He started his career in 2006 along with Yo Yo Honey Singh, but parted ways in 2012 and came up with his independent Haryanvi song ‘Kar Gayi Chull’. He is well known for crooning songs like ‘DJ Waley Babu’, ‘Saturday Saturday’, ‘Mercy’, ‘Heartless’ among others.

The singer is celebrating his birthday today on November 19, and we bring you some unknown facts about him as he turns a year older.

Badshah was born as Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia in Karnal.

While he grew up in Delhi, he used to perform with his school choir group.

Before becoming a full time musician, he enrolled as a math student in a prestigious university.

Reportedly, he stated that if he had not become a rapper, he may have become an IAS officer.

He started his career in the music industry with the name "Cool Equal", but then changed his name to Badshah.

His debut single, ‘DJ Waley Babu’ featuring Aastha Gill, was ranked number one on the Indian iTunes charts within 24 hours of the release.

Meanwhile his song ‘Wakhra Swag’ won the best Punjabi music of the year award at PTC Punjabi film awards.
