Punjabi sufi singer Satinder Sartaaj, known for crooning songs like ‘Sai’, ‘Udaarian’, ‘Masoomiat’ among many others, is celebrating his birthday today on August 31.

Besides being popular with his songs he has made the nation proud with his contribution to excellence in the field of music. He has been honoured for the same by the government of Australia and New Zealand. The singer was born in Hoshiarpur district of Punjab.

With an interest in music, he started performing from 3rd grade. Satinder obtained an honors degree in Music from Hoshiarpur and concentrated on his sufiana musical career. He completed his M. Phil in Sufi music singing and later a PhD in Sufi singing from Chandigarh.
