Punjabi actress Ihana Dhillon recently celebrated her birthday on August 18 with her family. On the occasion of her birthday, she adopted a kid and she started a birthday fundraiser for underprivileged kids whose education is affected by COVID-19.

Though Ihana was home on a break, the 'Bhuj' actor had also resumed shooting with two Punjabi music videos. “We shot 'Khaas' in Austria and Italy in December before the pandemic hit Italy. It’s sad that a beautiful country faced the onslaught of coronavirus first and to a large extent. We shot there in the hills and it was lovely because I am a nature loving person. I love snow and in Austria it was snowing,” she told a leading news portal.

What a better day other then my birthday to start an initiative which can bring smile to these beautiful kids by taking a step to distribute or hand something, which can help in their education journey. It was pleasure to meet ‘Maria’ and her sisters today and make little contribution in their education fund. It may be a small step but it also may help in defining their future a little better for them. Let’s all join hands and do our bit in making a difference. #IHanD4Education . . . #birthdaygirl #takeiniciative #helpinghandineducation #lovetheworld #2020vision #love #ihanadhillon

She also speaks of the uncertainty over reopening of cinema halls that is affecting the film business. “2020 was supposed to be a good year for me, I had two Punjabi and Hindi films. But, it’s a bad situation for everyone now. With cinemas shut, it’s difficult for us, and revenues are being affected. But, we understand that health is important, and social distancing in cinemas is not that easy. We are talking to the govt, trying to find a way out. We hope for the best.”

We also hope that the cinema opens soon too.
