Kader Khan's Son Receives Father's Padma Shri Award In Toronto

Sarfaraz, son of late actor-writer-director Kader Khan, received father’s Padma Shri award in Toronto, Canada recently. Kader Khan, who passed away on December 31, 2018, due to age-related complications- was to be awarded Padma Shri posthumously. However, his son Sarfraz could not make it to the Rashtrapati Bhawan.

Sarfaraz handed over the award in Toronto by the Consul General Dinesh Bhatia.

Kader Khan has worked in more than 300 films like Coolie No 1, Aankhen, Judaai, Khoon Bhari Maan, Bol Radha Bol , Judwaa and several others.

The legendary actor and writer Kader Khan's funeral took place yesterday at ISNA and he was buried at Meadowvale Cemetery. Son Sarfaraz Khan said that Kader Khan died surrounded by his family members and he had a "smile on his face" as he died. "There was a smile on my father's face when he passed away. I cherish that smile more than anything else in the world. My father's final years were very painful for him. He suffered from a degenerative disease that left him completely without the will to do anything. Apart from acting in movies, he was a diligent dialogue writer. Kader Khan wrote dialogues for nearly 250 films.

Kadir Khan was suffering from a degenerating disease, supranuclear palsy. He was admitted in a hospital in Canada on 28th December 2018, complaining of breathlessness. He passed away December 31 2018.
